Dr. Appel was born and raised in Michigan and earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, before continuing on to earn his Doctor of Dental Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine.
After spending several years working in private practices in Beaumont, Katy, and Houston, Dr. Appel purchased Humble Dentistry.
Dr. Appel is dedicated to expanding his skills and knowledge, amassing several hundred hours of continuing education over the past few years.

Dr. Appel married his wife, Annie, in October 2016. They spend lots of time with nieces and nephew in Richmond, TX. They have a rescue dog named Clyde (like Bonnie and Clyde), a Cairn Terrier and Yorkie mix who is 11 lbs. of boundless energy.
He enjoys trail running, cooking, and traveling. He loves spending time at the beach in Galveston and taking pictures of sunsets.
Julie graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene from the University of Missouri in 1984 and has been practicing for 28 years.

As a native of Kansas City, MO, Julie has lived in Houston for the last 29 years and claims both as her hometowns.
Julie and her husband have a farm in Grapeland, TX, where they raise all-natural, grass-fed Red Angus that they sell to individuals as a healthier alternative to grocery store beef.
Registered Dental Assistant
Yukie comes from Iwakuni, Japan, where she attended dental assisting school. She met her husband while he was stationed there as a member of the United States Marine Corp. They stay busy with their children, one of whom recently graduated from UT Austin.
Yuki joined our practice 18 years ago.

When Yukie is relaxing, you can find her watching movies, reading, and playing with her dogs.
Front Desk Assistant
Kory graduated valedictorian from her dental assisting program and has been with the practice since 2008. We hired her shortly after she completed her internship!

Kory was born and raised in Carolina, Puerto Rico. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons, particularly exploring the diversity of the Houston food scene.
Registered Dental Assistant
Annette attended Lamar State College in Orange, Texas, and is a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She joined our team in 2016.

Originally from Jamaica, Annette now calls Beaumont home after living here for seven years.
In her spare time, she likes fun activities with her family such as bowling and going to the movies.
